The Zimbabwe Evaluation Association is hosting an EvalWeek Conference taking place on the 26th to 28th of March 2019, in Harare, Zimbabwe with support from UNICEF, AfrEA and IOCE. The theme for the conference is “Towards evidence - informed policy making: The role of evaluation in achieving and aligning SDGs and National Strategies”. The conference, will provide a platform for sharing evidence and learning These monitoring and evaluation lessons will be integrated into new policies, strategies, projects and processes, to improve the quality of project designs and project implementation, and make interventions more effective, efficient and sustainable.
Aims and Objectives of the Evaluation week 2019
The 2019 EvalWeek Celebration will focus on the role of evaluation in sustainable development with a focus on achieving and aligning Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and National Strategies. In addition, the Evaluation week will seek to foster a culture of evaluation to promote increased transparency and accountability.
The forum will also provide an opportunity for the participants to address key evaluation questions including:
▪ What is the role of evaluation in facilitating the achievement of the SDGs?
▪ How can Development organizations’ and government leverage on evaluation knowledge to develop effective and accountable programs?
▪ How to integrate gender and equity focused evaluation in the context of SDGs
